A team of researchers at the University of Aberdeen’s School of Pharmacy has published a paper outlining a potentially dangerous drug for men.
AstraZeneca is to launch the UK-wide erectile dysfunction drug Viagra in the summer of 2022.
The UK health authorities are to announce the drug’s launch in the second half of 2022.
The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has warned that erectile dysfunction (ED) drugs are “not suitable for everyone” because of their potential for side effects.
“We urge the public to stop taking Viagra,” the MHRA said.
“This is not the first time that erectile dysfunction drugs have been implicated in a serious disorder such as Alzheimer’s and strokes.
“These drugs have a number of adverse effects, including the risk of cognitive dysfunction. These drugs may cause erectile dysfunction in some men, although this is not an absolute contraindication,” the agency added.
The research, which was carried out in the University of Aberdeen, found the drug did not have any beneficial effect on the rate of memory loss or Alzheimer’s-related cognitive problems.
A study published inArchives of Neurologyhas also found that the drug did not appear to have any positive effects on Alzheimer’s-related cognitive issues, although it may increase the risk of Alzheimer’s.
The findings were published in the journalNeurologyin July 2022.
“A study of men with Alzheimer’s disease who took sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) for 12 weeks, showed that men who took Viagra had a significantly higher rate of memory loss, memory problems, and memory problems compared to those who did not take the drug,” the researchers said.
“Sildenafil has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in rodents, including the rat models of Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s dementia. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect, which could be beneficial for reducing inflammation in the brain,” they said.
The researchers also found that men who took the drug for a longer period of time, while also taking sildenafil, had a higher rate of memory loss, memory problems, and memory problems compared to men who did not take the drug.

The results were published inand it was the first paper published in the journal.
“This is the first UK-wide study to assess the effects of Viagra in men with ED, in the UK, and to assess whether it can be used safely,” the researchers said.
Viagra, the erectile dysfunction drug sold by Pfizer, was originally developed as an anti-fungal drug for treating malaria, and has since been used to treat certain medical conditions.
In 2011, the drug was approved by the FDA for the treatment of prostate cancer.
The drug has been linked to brain damage, including a stroke.
“This is a serious side effect of Viagra,” the researchers said, though the drug has not been studied extensively in men with other mental health conditions, including Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
They added that the findings were “confident”.

INDIANAPOLIS —A Japanese company has agreed to pay $2.4 billion to settle allegations of overcharging the US government and money laundering.
The company will pay $10 million to settle civil suits brought by US citizens who allegedly were charged with fraud, misusing government money and engaging in criminal activity.
The company will also pay $10 million to resolve civil lawsuits over the sale of misbranded drugs, including Viagra, Cialis and the EpiPen.
The settlement comes after an investigation by the Justice Department into the allegations that two private companies in Sosua, the state of Alaska, were involved in a deal to sell the drugs, which had the potential to be used to enhance the health and well-being of US citizens.
The US Department of Justice said that it has made an assessment of the investigation.
The settlement was announced by the US Justice Department on Monday and comes as the government faces mounting legal pressure to keep its case alive.
The settlement comes as the US and Japanese governments face a string of investigations over the years into the company's illegal practices.
The company, known as Kansi, agreed in 2012 to pay a total of $7 billion to settle criminal charges brought against more than 30 people, including those in a high-profile case in New York.
The settlement also comes as a major blow to the Justice Department's probe into the illegal conduct of the two private companies.
In a statement, the company said: "We have acted promptly to resolve the allegations in the civil case against Kansi. We fully understand the gravity of the case and the significance of these settlements."
Kansi CEO and founder Peter Kavaler, who also faces criminal charges, said the company would have no "unprecedented liability" if it could not settle the cases.
"The government should pay a heavy price for its resolve to resolve these allegations," Mr Kavaler said. "This company, which is one of the largest companies in the world, is deeply committed to combating this crime. We look forward to working with the appropriate authorities to bring this criminal matter to a conclusion and we look forward to a continued partnership with the government."
The company has filed over $4.4 billion in civil litigation, more than a third of which was brought by US citizens who allege that the government engaged in criminal activities in violation of federal law.
The company said the government has engaged in civil actions for alleged violations of law, fraud, and money laundering.
Karenthood, the US government's corporate arm, is under a criminal investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It is also accused of engaging in criminal activities.
Karenthood said the company was responsible for making and selling millions of dollars of unapproved medicines used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
The company said it will continue to do business as a company with an "advocacy network" that "has a strong financial and legal structure."
Karenthood's legal team is led by an attorney who has represented the company in civil and criminal litigation.
